Have You Learned

Have You Learned

A Poem by Norma M Sutton
"

Thoughts about someone once held dear

"

Have you learned today
That a woman isn't your beast of burden
Do you know that love
Isn't money unlimited
Do you know what you've lost
When you set those who care aside
Because they don't bow down to you
When you look to the sky
Do you see clouds and blue
Or is it your name hovering there
Everywhere you seem to see
Yourself above all else
Do you know how you lie
Even to yourself
When people see you arrive
They seek other spaces
Its not admiration on their faces
Just dread of another long self centered rant
Until on the day you die
A wasted life bitter and alone

I wonder who would “assume” that love was like “money unlimited”, as you have so originally expressed!! I mean sure, Love is abundant and ardent, but is never to be taken for granted.
I also wonder if someone went "ouch" when they read this..
