On tippy toe
Slowly the unknown slope I go

Stepping forward
A foot at a time
Reaching for some unknown line

Stepping forward
Hesitant and slow
Ever onward I go

Stepping forward
Dare not look back
Moving onward no going back

First of all, the painting that accompanies this wonderful piece is breathtaking. The poem itself is beautiful and I can vividly picture the shepard's careful steps through the snow, but also take a different, metaphorical meaning from the words. An outstanding poem, Norma, and one that appeals greatly to me.
