Numb

Numb

A Poem by Norma M Sutton
"

aftershock

"

Mind numb
Heart still
Mouth struck dumb

Fingers type
Eyes stare
Need respite

Holding on
Deadly calm
Another day gone

Prayers said
Sheltering him, now them
In my head

Peace has come
Though still sad
Happiness is some

Dreams of mine
Shimmer and fade
Left behind

Transformed into
Prayers of safety
Hopes for you

Vision changes
Now wiped clean
Following new ranges

Still to scared
Can't hope yet
Feelings bared

"happiness is some" I understand that.

Numb ... I understand that, too.

Rather sad.
