Colors To Dye ForA Poem by Norma M Suttona delve into the wonderful world of color
In front of me I see
Ten bags of dull powder Each carries a label Of wonderful color On the table to the side Wool is piled My favorite to dye A spotted fleece with colors wild Into the pot I add Water hot and steamy Vinager so pungent my eyes are streaming Stirring gently I add powder dull and dead Stepping back in brilliant surprise Dull and dead springs alive Were only brown dull was Day glow pink now rises Add soft wool Submerge it well Simmer pot but do not stir Sit and wait Turn off pot and let it cool Remove the now bright fleece Rinse it well and let it dry Gasping with amazed sigh White spots bright and vivid gleam Brown sections a rosie under glow Black still black, but much much more Brilliant and subtle color springs forth Bit by the bug I'll soon dye more Hidden treasure soon to shine Heavenly brilliance to dye for © 2011 Norma M Sutton |
