As lightening shone and thunder blew
I danced the dance that dancers do

Beneath the shadows of the moon

Soft earth, cold stone, eyes of dew

I danced the dance that dancers do

As lightening shone and thunder blew

Once again I thought of you

Beneath the shadows of the moon

One heart, one mind, I thought of you

As once before I dreamed of you

As lightening shone and thunder blew

I danced the dance that dancers do

Beneath the shadows of the moon

Swirling, twirling, raining down

I danced the dance that dancers do

As lightening shone and thunder blew

I danced the dance that dancers do

Beneath the shadows of the moon

Soft wind, cold rain, my eyes on you

I danced the dance that dancers do

@Sean Allen - Interesting factoid about the moon 50,000 years ago. On a similar note, I remember a friend who visited Italy a few years ago and commented how vivid the stars were on a moonless night above the Mediterranean. She really understood how the ancients focused so on the constellations and their movements; they were so vivid even today and truly difficult to miss.

50,000 years ago the much closer Moon was a far greater influence on people than today and the shadows in cast would have been far more distinct. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

I like this poem. I could see the shadows dancing and I could feel the quiet and freedom of the night. I had a few night with good wine and dance. Poem is amazing and the story is outstanding. Thank you.
