Boiled coffee always opens my eyes
better then drip, but this morning that rich smokey flavor isn't coming through. This morning it has a wang . . . this morning I
added water to yesterday's grounds as I was too sleepy to clean the
pot and start with new grounds. Oh my, not really the sort of eye
opener I was hoping for, and definitely not the kind I was expecting.
It's not bad, but it does leave something to be wanted. I will try
adding some vanilla caramel creamer to it, can't hurt, might help.
But I am generally not a dessert coffee for breakfast kind of gal.
Hmmm well it still isn't what I prefer, but if it wakes me I can deal
with it.
Sadly I can already tell it is NOT
going to do the job . . . guess I'll be cleaning the pot and making
fresh after all.
I grew up hearing “waste not, want
not” and “haste makes waste”. So many time I find this to be
true. This morning I didn't want to wait for a fresh pot to boil so
I took a “short cut”. The result was weak coffee with very
little flavor, even with creamer added.
Now for those youngsters, and possibly
oldsters, that have never heard these phrases. The first, “waste
not, want not” was used to remind us that if we waste what we have,
be it a talent, memory or something tangible, like that molded head
of lettuce in the recesses of the fridge, there may come a day when
you really need it and you won't have it.
The second, “haste makes waste” was
telling us to do the job properly the first time and there will be no
need to redo it. I find that one is often the case, in writing and
in my day job (alterations) If I take a short cut to save time, 9
times out of 10 I end up having a harder time and it takes much
longer then if I just did it right the first time lol.
