Night Storm

Night Storm

A Chapter by Norma M Sutton

From the comforts of my bed
A pattering is heard above my head
Rain coming down
Drowning me in sound

Eyes by darkness blind
Open wide no light to find
Blinded by nature's right
Succumb to the night

Dampness permeates the air
Chasing away dreams so fair
Soft blanket tightly hug
Warm beckoning dreams tug

Dreams call from the other side
Damp earth and rushing tide
Pattering in the distance fades
I walk the distant glade

Ahh, lying in bed at night, snug and dry, listening to rain come down. How I love that.

Rain can be so soothing... I know it can relax me when I need to sleep... a very enjoyable read.
