I am the one who can be found singing,
Even on the deadliest of nights,
I am the one who waits,
Until all of your tears are shed,
I am the one with the open arms,
I am the one who is usually over looked,
Talked over, ignored,
I am the one screaming into deaf ears,
The tragedies, the fundamentals,
I am the one who laughs at demons,
Dances with ghosts, befriends the imaginations,
I am the odd ball, the one uncomfortable in her body,
Trying on the differences, new styles, though unable,
To find the perfect fit,
I am the one who embraces the world and her children, humans, plants and microbes a like,
I am the one who loves her,
So desperately,
So fully,
That it is hard to watch her from so far away,
Knowing, or NOT knowing the impact she has had on me and my life,
I am the one who smiles while picking up pieces of shattered red glass,
Refitting, reconstituting them into something resembling a heart,
I am the one, who when my world comes crashing down,
Will be left scarred,
Scarred...but standing...
