Release the Insanity

Release the Insanity

A Poem by Victoria Magana

Think of his face,
Use a photo,
Take a deep breath,
Start at a mutter, a stutter, a whisper,
Then scream until nothing is left,
Tell him what is inside,
How you still love him so,
How you hate the lies,

Tell him you're happy for him,
Offer to cut him a second grin,
Burn the photo along with the pain,
Laugh until your ears bleed,
Laugh like a hyena gone to seed,

Find a piece of wax paper,
Write a hate letter,
Feed the fire with it,
Think of how many times you've kissed him,
Multiply by 3 and that is how many times he's forgotten you,

Scratch your skin until drops of vitality fall like rain,
Lick it up,
Hate yourself for having to leave,
Smile and give a thumbs up,
Think of how much he loves her,
Discover your friend in the knife drawer.
