An Odyssey

An Odyssey

A Poem by Aiza E.M. Bridge

My ship, anchored

at the start of a long journey,

still in the shadows of the eastward sun

I was alone on the water

A long passage, a long task

of existence

     with only a sea in sight, only

the sun beyond the ridges of solemnity

    darkness and

a swarm of stars above my shoulder

with all the comfort of a ministering spirit;

I found

        the light anchored inside

Has the sound of an enlightenment experience. If only all of us could find that light inside, the world would be a much nicer place.
