Sarai

Sarai

A Poem by Aiza E.M. Bridge
"

Found Poem "Road to Cana" Pg. 2 | 2013 In the Bible, Abraham's wife was old and barren - I imagine she felt similarly to these words. She was later called Sarah after she conceived and birthed a son.

"
I sweat and ache from the burn under the sun

I am old now and I forget

And I am afraid my dreams are parched and cold

I am a woman who lay still, with the coals

                                            the ashes

Found poetry is a type of poetry created by taking words, phrases, and sometimes whole passages from other sources and reframing them as poetry (a literary equivalent of a collage) by making changes in spacing and lines, or by adding or deleting text, thus imparting new meaning.

The poem told a real and true story of life. Old age memories can burn the heart. I believe also my Grandfather wisdom. A life, well lived. Leave us with great places touched and held once. Give us something to appreciate in old age. Thank you Aiza for sharing the amazing poetry,
Coyote
