ExecutionerA Poem by Sweet EmotionsFrench Revolution themed I guess
The judge gives the order
And I sharpen the blade, Lay their heads in the guillotine And for this I am paid. I feel no remorse For those in the ground, Killed by my hand And the royal crown. Peasants and beggars Bishops and saints, Head on spikes Blood opaque as paint. Villages cry as the wheels rattle through, While the horses wheeze Bringing hatred as they go. Soldiers watch for crimes Punishable by law, While I sit in the back Holding my saw. Someday I too will fall victim to this fate, For I am the one All the villagers hate. But for now I just sit and wait for my orders, While the people are victimized By the judges and lawyers. © 2011 Sweet Emotions |
