Lips

Lips

A Poem by Sweet Emotions

Your green eyes know secrets,
Secrets dark and destructive.
Your heart yearns for love;
My blue eyes see your desire.
Tell me baby, can I be the one?

When you kiss my lips,
Let me take your pain away.
I want to protect you
More than I know the words to say.

Your soft hands brushed the tears from my eyes.
Your lips saved my life,
My body and yours keep each other warm,
Your eyes look to mine for safety;
I can only hope I can give what you need.

When you kiss my lips can you take my pain away?
I need your protection
More than I know the words to say.

Know that I’ll never ask you to leave.
I just want to look into your green eyes,
Can I listen to you breath?
You changed my life more than I can say;
I’m here for you until you wish me away.

What a lovely piece; it stirs something deep in my soul and reminds me of forbiden fruit. "Your lips saved my life" well, I love the imagry in the poem, and I feel like the sentiment could have been plucked from my very soul. A stir inside like the itch that can't quite be scratched. I hope she never wishes you away.
