Even the Stars

Even the Stars

A Poem by Amy Beth Storey

You promised again
At our final goodbye
The last time I would see you
Hear your voice
And I could only cry

Well even the stars are crying tonight
As they dangle from the sky
They miss watching us dance to no music,
And talking till three am
When you come back we’ll re-unite
And oh, it’ll be like you never left
But this is time for us,
Us to grow in the One who’s brought us together
And even the stars will miss you here

I heard what you said
As we stood in the doorway
You were trying to leave
I was trying to make you stay
But oh, I know
This is what is really best
And oh, I know
I will never deserve you
Could I ever deserve you?

Well even the stars are crying tonight
As they dangle from the sky
They miss watching us dance to no music
And talking till three a.m.
When you come back we’ll re-unite
And oh, it’ll be like you never left
But this is time for us.
Us to grow in the One who’s brought us together
And even the stars will miss you here

Can you see, my tears tonight?
Do you hear, my cries for you?
I miss you, I want you
But I can’t live for you anymore

Can you see my tears tonight?
(The stars cry too)
I feel my heart ripping now
(They dangle on a thin string like me)
You’re so far, and I’m so lost
(I miss us, they miss us)
God, please come home soon
(This is hurting the stars)
I know its best
But right now all I can feel is your absence
(Even the stars miss you)

Well even the stars are crying tonight
(Can you see my tears?)
As they dangle from the sky
(Dangling my heart on thin strings)
They miss watching us dance to no music
(We all miss everything about you)
And talking till three a.m.
(Lets turn back the clock, three a.m.)
When you come back we’ll re-unite
(Too far away)
And oh, it’ll be like you never left
(You’ve left too soon)
But this is time for us.
(Time for me to move on?)
Us to grow in the One who’s brought us together
(I can’t even breathe without you, how should I grow?)
And even the stars will miss you here
(All I can feel is your absence)

Even the stars are crying tonight
And even the stars will miss you here
Even the stars are crying tonight
Event he stars will miss you
Stars crying, dangling, missing you
Crying, missing, dangling for you

This was done very well. Wish I could it to the tune you want it sung it. I bet it would be even better.

This is awesome!!! To me, this would make an excellent country song--I dont know what genre you'd like this to be in, but I can easily imagine Faith and Tim singing this...or better yet, Martina and Blake!
I love how you used the colors for the male and female parts...that was creative. This is a beautiful song. Kudos!
