Don't Forget

Don't Forget

A Poem by Amy Beth Storey

I can remember all those great times

The funny memories

That only we could create.

I can remember all those long nights

Of tears, of laughter

And planning out our futures.

When we grow old and apart

Don't forget what we had

I can remember your first heartbreak

Right after your first love

And I was there when you needed me.

I wish I could've saved you the pain.

And during our first fight

I missed you every day we didn't talk.

When we grow old and apart

Don't forget who we were.

I can remember the way you laughed

Your obsession with yellow and orange

And planning out our weddings

Before it all fell down.

And when I graduated

We never even seperated a little bit.

When we grow old and apart

Don't forget what we had together.

You saw me break hearts

And you saw me be broken in two.

I saw you break hearts

And I watched you break in two.

And we never managed to let anything

Come between us for long.

When we grow old and apart

Don't forget.

Best friends that never knew

God could bless our lives so

Best friends that never saw

What we had until we let it go.

When we grow old and apart

Don't forget what we had

Don't forget who we were.

Don't forget what he had together.

Don't forget.
