The Best To Me

The Best To Me

A Poem by Amy Beth Storey
"

About a great friendship and looking back on the memories

"

Everytime I open the scrapbook

I see pictures and pictures of us.

And everytime I think back to highschool

I think, I think, of us.

Oh it seems so long ago now

But it feels like just yesterday

We were bathing in the sun,

walking to our houses

And meeting up for lunch.

Memories that hold so dear

Don't forget we were the best.

The best of friends.

Memories that I hold close

Don't forget we were the best

The best that ever happened.

I can see the way we were

You were dating that boy

And I was the first one you called

When he decided to break it out.

I remember the way we were

Talking about my wedding,

Shopping till we couldn't walk

And dreaming of our futures

Memories that hold so dear

Don't forget we were the best.

The best of friends.

Memories that I hold close

Don't forget we were the best

The best that ever happened

Oh, I wonder what you're doing.

Oh, do you have another best?

Oh, I wonder where you are

Oh, You were the best to me.
