breaking smiles

breaking smiles

A Poem by sweetbuddha

sometimes...

when my soul

is restless

I walk the streets,

hands in pockets,

hair in the wind,

and eyes on the sky...

eventually

my eyes look

before me

at the faces

surrounding

in the cold

and I see a stranger

smile...

and I break.

a simple

polite gesture,

but befriending

loneliness is not

enough.

but why is it

that a smile

could be so

powerful?
