It works both ways...

Big puppy-dog eyes beseeching
Docile temperament so pleasing
A little fat to round it off
Try not to look at all that tough.

Suppress your own little genuine thoughts
Succumb to ideas by others wrought.
High-pitched sycophantic tone concurring
Blind obedience, independence blurring.

Please them to their hearts' content
Question not where your soul went.

Thank you! In our need to connect and find acceptance, cloying sycophancy has its place. But, souls placed on this earth were meant to germinate and grow. To accede and succumb is to erode the potential for greatness in each of us rendering us pleasing for a time but useless to the evolution of our world.
