The Falconer

The Falconer

A Poem by Rachelle

The Falconer

You turned me loose

Unfastened my hood

And the trappings

And shooed me free.

Go soar with the eagles!

You shouted curtly.

Unwillingly I did

Hurt and bitter from the harshness.

And from my airy ascents and descents,

I see you

A solitary, desolate figure

Mired in the chaos and the madness.

I know nothing greater than this:

You set me free

Because you love me.

Overall the poem is well written but what I really liked was how you ended it "You set me free because you love me".. a really good end with a very deep great meaning..

Well written and keep it up!
