Genus: RosaA Poem by Rachellereposting You stab when you claim I never cherished the roses you sent. I flinch when you declare that your love was misspent.
I am a tower of silence but please believe that I am true. Each and every moment, my heart burns for you.
I never put your roses in a vase. I shall never lie. I pulled the flowers out and apart. That I cannot deny.
Allow me to declare before you stand and depart Your offerings were never cast aside by a cold and cruel heart. The petals were extracted and distilled into rose essential oil. The stems made into cuttings and planted in fertile soil.
The rest were ground into a pulp, from it paper was made. The pollen scattered in the garden as the butterflies played. And here is my rose garden - grown from every bouquet you sent. Reflections of love never spoken as time came and went. © 2014 RachelleAuthor's Note
