A Poem by Rachelle
"

Focus: The test of growth is characterized by the ability to see beyond the despair and embrace it as your springboard to greatness.

"
Shut my eyes and dispel the pain
Desperately willing rationality to reign.
Logical measures to contain the fear
Restraining myself from shedding tears.

Stiff upper lip to chart my course
No more time to feel remorse.
The keys I grasp and lock my heart
None shall ever tear me apart.

Wiped away the tears forlorn
Making way for a brand new morn
Open wide my self-imposed tomb
This will not be my impending doom.

I am the captain of this battered ship
Master of this lifelong trip.
Pain and sorrow buried away
I make my journey on this day.

This is wonderful and no truer words have been spoken; you are the captain of your own ship. It sounds like this is a companion piece to your earlier poem. Good luck with your decisions.
