An Adorned Farewell

An Adorned Farewell

A Poem by bob
"

I'm a 17 year old kid and am getting ready for whatever I actually want to do with my life and I guess I was just thinking a lot about my future and what I want to make of it.

"

Nodding empty heads

Counterfeit smiles from ear to ear

Genuine concealed emotions

We know this is the day

The day of enlightenment

We feel boundless

And we dance

Rain pours down atop the careless

As the thoughts of future takes a load off

Takes off his black boots and unwinds

As minds observe and overlook

Feet brushing across the wooden floor

As if it were their last dance

Swaying away their youth

Their last time sweeping their bare feet across the juvenile floor

Across the burial ground of adolescence

Giving an adorned farewell

To the land they’ve given their lives to
