sometimes it is the holding on too tight that makes it easy to eventually let go .. I felt your plea throughout this page .. It need not be the end though .. I am still in contact with several previous lovers .. actually, that is not quite true .. only 2,357 of them :)

I have stayed very close friends with ex-girlfriends, even gone to some of their weddings..exes can make very good friends, they know us so well.
It's not impossible to stay within reach, yet keep those thoughts of touch to ourselves.

I don't understand this poem from the get-go . . . how can these things be the case, as described in the first few lines? I'm trying to picture it, but can't. But still, this whole poem has a topsy-turvy feeling to it, as if the expressions are a little scrambled & not making total sense. I read this as being from a person who's so rattled by the possibility of losing this special person, the narrator is just babbling everything that might possibly convince this person to stay. I'm not into begging, so I would have to tell this person to get a spine. But that's a different poem *wink! wink!* Fondly, Margie

Mmm not turning a friend to a lover thats something that i was trying to capture... not sure if that made any sense in this poem.. :p
Over the time realization came that it's not worth it..
Unless you want to get rid of that person for good ... :)

Nice to see you here again Ardra. I have experienced this many times ... difficult to balance the two emotions ... one wants more than the other is wiling to give and yet ... it is hard to let go. There are a whole slew of issues that can arise from this situation, and I never found one that would work for me, but if one is willing to subjugate the romantic impulses a great friendship could await.

well ... that outcome is the most positive when a relationship ends for any reason .. i have remained friends with past lovers and the "new" relationship is far more real ... realistic .. and mutual ;) same here .. about covid .. few people disregard the precautions .. most do tho .. we are in the process of opening businesses now and it is something that has to be done .. the economic hurt is an even bigger threat at this point .. we have better statistics, protocols that are working and more and better testing .. time to put this bug in the bag ;)
