ColdA Poem by swatiDistant and faraway In the summer sunshine Of her mind She hears the warm whispers Of her unfulfilled life Lying in the meadow of her dreams Daffodils encompass her senses Her heart rises On the shoulders of love She could not share The sunshine feels like A cherub’s gentle kiss On her cheek He nudges her But she won’t wake No, Never He carries her in his arms And places her Gently On the nail-bed of reality Her eyes feel heavy From a burden Placed on them She forces them to open And she shivers Golden sunlight Streams through the windows But hearts remain Impenetrable Her once warm heart Begins to harden From the artificial sunlight That feels cold And leaves the longing For the gentle kiss Of her dreams
