Shooting Star

Shooting Star

A Poem by Sarah Wlochal

Reaching for a shooting star
Nothing can hold me back
I have my future planned out
Holding my head high I’ll stand.
Dreaming with everything I’ve got
No more broken hearts for me
I’m moving on
Proud of who I’ll be.
I have my wings
It’s time to fly
Without any regrets
Soaring up in the sky.
Got the bravery of an eagle
With the heart of a butterfly
I’m going to make it out there
No more sorrowful sighs.
Black and white pictures are gone
Colorful ribbons dancing in my hair
Loving who I am
I’m going to make it far.
