Locked Up

Locked Up

A Poem by Sarah Wlochal

I was sad and I did cry
When my soul got locked inside
You couldn’t see my beautiful eyes
The key to the door got thrown aside
The beauty within my features
Got turned to cold, hard stone
The sparking jewels that did not show
Were hidden and did not glow
Then one day a spirit came
He knew I needed help
He opened up the metal bars
My beauty began to show
I journeyed into the real world
My face I did not hide
The sparkling jewels behind my eyes
Came out into the light.
