The pit of My StomachA Poem by J. SwaneyJust a shorty....
The Pit Of My Stomach
J. Swaney 09/01/09 THEN A younger and more impetuous man was I. The pit a constant companion. Would Dad be pissed? What chores had I missed. Could I pass the test? Should I touch her breast? Who would when the class election? Would anyone notice my constant erection? Was my hair just right? Would I get in a fight? Could I slip my hand in her panties tonight? NOW An older and more subdued Man am I. The Pit shielded by 50 extra pounds. Will I drink Bourbon or Gin? When will my wife and I make love again? Will the markets of stock go up or down? My face is masked with a permanent frown. I drink at home instead of a bar. The insurance is do on the car Will the president use his Veto. I shouldn't have eaten that last burrito. Running late but the news is on TiVo, Sometimes I miss the pit of my stomach. © 2009 J. Swaney |
