GoneA Poem by LikeAWritingOne
Quarter past one, I sit here shaking,
thinking about what could've been. Our bond that once knew no bounds, is now breaking at the seams Under the tree, with no one around, you left without a single goodbye. I watched you slowly walk into the fog bleeding into the endless gray sky. Ignoring me like I was nothing to you, I trusted and cared for you every day. But that sacred connection was finally gone, your memory with you was fading away. Now I know to trust no one, I gave you the most precious gift of them all. The gift of my friendship, tarnished and broken, that one dreadful day in the middle of fall. Night time moves on and I now close my eyes, hopeless and broken, I whisper "goodbye".
