Aporia

Aporia

A Poem by Swagato Saha
"

How do the forms of modern media affect Subjectivity? Can Poetry as 'Aporia' recover truth amidst the algorithmic ether? "The medium is the message" - Marshall McLuhan

"

Where goes the gaze of the dreamless eye?
For but an unwatched moment's dark?
From endless scrolls past stranger lives,
Midst spawning scenes and pixels stark...

In numbered pages, I recite-

Where shall the drowning ear refrain?
To the prayer of a faithful voice?
From fleeting reels and preachings vain,
Midst drunken seas worth nameless noise...

In weighted silence, I remain-

Where drifts to sleep the anxious mind?
By memories of a fellow thought?
'Gainst buffered screens and circling signs,
And the bile of stimuli unsought...

In measured verses, I reply-

As the rage of the undead ode!
As the airy nothing's abode,
As the promise of words untold;
As the sigh of the searching soul.
