![]() Without WorldA Poem by Swagato Saha![]() Against the dictum "Personal is Political", what is to be done when the World as the shared space of collective action disappears? Do "we live in a Society"? Or are we but sheltered black holes?![]() But our wails of weary will must give way, To the frail courage of a flourished hand, By the doorbell's ring in timeless wait, Have breathless strides taken their stand. -So the silence of winter's night sees, Flyers wake its unknowing eyes, From warmest sleep to cold unease, With scenes of distant genocides- When came a call from the chambers dressed, As the feigned smile of a sunken gaze; What words dare rouse thy sheltered soul? What fated light could burn black holes? And what's in a hallway's sourceless stare? That strips true thought of meaning bare, Strands me thus in abyssal pause; By thy guarded isle the world withdraws... -O' lost time, forgotten space! Are we lone bearers of thy remains? Must search the waste of winding ways, For a fellow memory- While worldless windows slide to dreams, By the promise of another day, And the East Wind's untethered screams! As dying children far away... © 2025 Swagato Saha |
