Copa America 2020 and CONCACAF Gold Cup DrawA Chapter by Steve ClarkThe following article provides an oversight for matches and tournaments taking place in 2019.Copa America 2020 Draw
Qualified (in ranking order): Brazil 2nd Colombia 3rd Chile 6th Ecuador 11th Mexico 13th Costa Rica 21st Argentina 23rd Jamaica 27th USA 28th Peru 33rd Uruguay 45th Venezuela 57th Paraguay 65th Guatemala 67th Honduras 79th Bermuda 135th
The groups are as follows: Group A Colombia Mexico Peru Guatemala
Group B Brazil Jamaica USA Paraguay
Group C Chile Argentina Venezuela Bermuda
Group D Ecuador Costa Rica Uruguay Honduras
Group A looks the toughest group, with World Cup winners Colombia and World Cup Qualifiers Mexico and Guatemala. Peru is a formidable side and will look to topple Colombia from their high ranking.
In Group B, Brazil should progress, but the remainder of the nations in the USA, Jamaica and Paraguay will all have a chance at taking the other spot in the Quarter Finals.
Chile and Argentina should progress from Group C, but one cannot ignore Venezuela who seem to be hitting their stripes at the right time. Bermuda will be there to make up the numbers, but the fact they qualified is a testament to how much they have improved and will continue to improve. This is the group with three South American sides, and all will look to progress.
Group D is another tough group, with Ecuador, Uruguay and Costa Rica all vying for the Quarter Finals. Do not underestimate Honduras as well, as they took it to Argentina in their last Qualifier.
