Global Futbol Matches September 10th to 16th, 2018A Chapter by Steve ClarkThe following articles provide a summary of matches and tournaments after the 2018 Global Futbol World Cup.September 10th to September 16th, 2018
The
first Match Day of the Nations League wrapped up on Monday. In the Americas,
Bolivia lost at home to Jamaica after travelling to Poland last week for a
friendly. They looked lacklustre all game, allowing Jamaica to control much of
the game. Meanwhile, Poland beat a Belgian side undermanned at home, while the
Philippines scraped past Kyrgyzstan, and Brunei slipped five into the net
beyond the Maldives goalkeeper. Qualifiers
for the 2022 World Cup will commence October 13th, with eight African nations
playing the first leg of a home and away knockout stage. Burundi hosts the
first leg against Somalia, while Comoros travel to South Sudan. Eritrea must
find a way to overcome Lesotho, whereas the lowest-ranked African nation,
Sierra Leone, will fight for progression against Djibouti. The
Physico Championships continued on Sunday, including the first part of the
home-and-away second qualifying round. The home teams across the board were the
general winners, except for Gabon and Georgia winning away and setting up a
high possibility of progressing to the 3rd Qualifying stage. Final matches in the top 14 groups got underway, with little surprises bar France losing to Slovenia.
