Small things

Small things

A Story by Suvada

I was always told that if you accidently put your clothes on backwards that meant good luck will come to you.

That if you make wish at 11:11, all your dreams will come true.

If you catch a shooting star, quick make a wish, before the star disappears too.

I was once told that all the white marks on top of my finger nails, meant thats how many people loved me at the time.

And that all the freckles throughout my body, was a symbol of how happy I will be growing up, that day I ended up counting all the freckles on my body as a smile lite up my face.

I remember smiling so big because at the time it all seemed so true.

Growing up I realized those little things people use to tell us,

Were to help us believe that good things still exist.

Being happy, being loved, and being able to laugh all still existed.

I feel like life gets to us, that we forget these little moments.

I feel like we get so wrapped up into our lives and drama and mind,

That we forget to push that pause button, not to freeze life, but to breath.

Thinking back on those little  things,

I’ve noticed I still smile every time when I accidently put my clothes on backwards,

Because I want to believe some good luck is still out there for me.
