Forever and AlwaysA Poem by Suvada10/11/18 I remember when you told me, you can be friends with your ex’s. I looked at you with an arched brow and told you it was impossible. And you chuckled. Its impossible, Because it will remind me that you were never meant to be mine. Your shining blue eyes, Your laugh, And your hugs would never be mine anymore. It would remind of things I use to miss. Like the times you use to laugh and would quickly cover it, Because it wasnt something you liked about yourself. Or the times where you would fit so much food in your mouth, I would tease you about looking like a little chipmunk, And you would laugh trying so hard to keep the food from falling out. I would miss the way you use to keep my hands warm, Under the night skies, And as I look up I would notice the way you looked at me. You made me feel special, like I was the only one for you. I would miss the sound of your sleepy voice through the phone. The way you would chuckle, And the sound of your breathing. I could sense that you were curled up with your phone by your ear Not wanting to say goodbye, and we never did. We fell asleep on the phone everytime. I would miss the times where you would wrap your arms around me, For the longest I use to still feel your arms around me, I would smile, than I realized it was all in my head. I would miss the little notes you would write me on my bad days, Wishing me a good day and calling me beautiful. I would miss the way you told me “I love you.” The nervousness in your voice, The hope of me responding back with “I love you too.” Every thought of you that runs through my head, Makes me miss you more and more every single time. It hurts to know that you won’t ever be mine, But you deserve someone who will be more committed than I ever was. Because to me you were such a beautiful dream, that I wish I could have held on a little longer, but it was time for us to say goodbye. I will forever love you. --s.m © 2018 SuvadaReviews
