I am a liar.

I lie about how I feel,

Even though every word& emotion is spilled on paper.

I lie about the tears that roll down my face,

Because I like to believe that I am hurt.

I lie about the stories,

Because I find it interesting in who believes in me.

I lie about the stab in the heart,

Even though it comes to be me every time I see you.

I lie,

Because I am a girl.

 

So, because I am a girl,

The feelings I have are acted out.

Because I am a girl,

The writing I make,

Are not as real as they sound.

Because I am girl,

I should listen to what the crowd says

Instead of my own heart.

Because I am a girl

I’m not allowed to scream for help.

I’m not allowed to say I am hurt.

I’m not allowed to say he made me like this.

I’m not allowed to talk,

Because that would just be absurd.

Because I’m a girl,

I should learn to tape my mouth shut

And not say a word.
