Hidden Shadows

Hidden Shadows

A Poem by Suvada
"

My mind can just be full of dark shadows that it can just take over my mind

"
I open my eyes,
Darkness all around,
Wind blowing hard,
Trees going back and forth,
And a howl of a wolf that goes through my ears.
I heard a creak,
Startled,
Heart beating faster than ever!
I see a shadow,
I don't know what it is,
If it was only a huge rock,
A branch,
An animal,
Or maybe even human.
When I tried to move closer,
I hear another step closer,
I freeze with no movement.
Was this a dream?
If it was i needed to wake up.
I closed my eyes
And opened it again..
Still in the same place..
Cold and dark.
A word finally came out of my mouth..
'Hello? '
No answer,
Just the wind blowing harder.
Again i said,
'Hello! ? '
Nothing..
Than goes a whisper,
'Shh, they're watching you'
I froze blinking my eyes closed.
I opened my eyes and
I'm back in bed with a note in my hand,
I looked at it, it read:
'Shh, they're watching you'
My eyes just widened,
and my heart just stopped.

A lot of mystery in the poem. I liked the internal thoughts and the note given. You create good vision and you left the reader with questions. Could be a good lead for a scary tale. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

This would be fun if it wasn't so spooky. But, spooky it is! I read it and freeze. Very effective.
(You might consider "A word finally came out of my mouth" - more accurate. It threw me off but only because I come from a family of English teachers.)
