While Your Feet Still Touch The Ground

You help me stand back up,
When I feel as if I'm falling down,
You know how to gravitate me,
When I feel like I can't touch the ground

I can't express how my heart feels;
How lucky I know I am,
To have such lovely friends and family,
Because the world used to feel like a bedlam

But everything I've been through,
Has helped shape me this way,
That there's nothing I'd ever change,
Because I'm happy with who I am today

Your perspective will determine the world you live in,
You can let others build you up or tear you down,
But if I've learned anything so far-
It's that it's up to only you how you live your life
while your feet still touch the ground

I very honest and endearing poem. Would possibly benefit from some well considered imagery to 'meat out' the content but I have to give you generous applause for the integrity and truth you have located here. It has a confessional air and you can see the human behind the words.

I really enjoyed reading this, it has such a powerful message but it's not in your face (if that makes any sense) and it's also short and sweet and to the point. The third paragraph is something I think everyone should understand and never apologize for going through what they've gone through and being who they are today. I'm glad you put that in there because I don't think it would have been as good without it.
