I Used to Want More From Life

I Used to Want More From Life

A Poem by Yours Truly

I used to want more from life,
Dreamed about being your wife,
Our children running around,
But I might as well be buried in the ground

Meaning nothing more to you,
I used to think there was nothing we couldn't get through,
But you proved me wrong,
After being together for so long

And in the end it was easy to see,
That you had stopped caring for me,

But I'm over you for the most part,
Keeping my head up,
Thankful for the fresh start,
I've begun in life,
Instead of wasting my time,
thinking about all our strife

Yours Truly, I really like how you write from feelings. I like your style of poetry, and find the subjects interesting. The feeling and experiences of life seem to pour out of the poems, bringing each one to life. I will start adding some of my poems and writings of the last 10-15 years, as I weed through them and add them, and will begin writing some new stuff also. I have never put any of my writing out there, so it will be interesting to see if anyone finds any of it interesting. A lot of my writing is actually for songs, but hey, they all interchange. Thank you for sharing your poems, and look forward to reading more. hossamoto
