The Rest of Our Days

You're always on my mind,

If I could, I would rewind,

I never meant for things to get this bad,

When I think about it, it makes me sad,

You've always been what I wanted and more,

I wish you would stop acting like you're going to leave and walk out the door,

Your words slice into me deep,

And sometimes I can't help but weep,

You're the only one I want to be with, the only one I want to love,

Until we grow old and eventually go up above,

I don't want you to lie and deceive me,

I want you to be happy and believe me,

When I say that you're my forever and always,

And I'll be by your side for the rest of our days

Warm and romantic emotions throughout this lovely write. Good rhyming too. I do have one correction for you, though. Several times in this poem, you use the word "your" when you actually mean "you're" as in "you are". If you edit those places, it will improve the poem greatly. Lydi**
