The Broken Bird
A tribute to all teens who committed suicide, and a message to all those who are considering it: DON’T GIVE UP.

One girl, one happy girl
Is like a bird
Beautiful, soaring, free
Every person starts out as a bird
Happy, joyful, ecstatic
Drifting through life without a care
Of course, everyone goes through problems in life, whether it be
Divorce
Bullying
Coming out or
Loss
Everyone goes through problems
When these problems go too far
It’s hard for a bird to fly
When they go even farther
The bird is broken
Unable to fly
Unable to hang on
Unable to see the light
Sometimes, it just gets to be too much
They can’t bear the burden any longer
They decide to end it themselves
Once and for all
But we can avoid this tragic fate
We are never truly alone
You have people to turn to
You have people to talk to
You have people to repair your broken wings
People to repair the broken bird
And believe me,
We’ve already lost far, far too many
