Amidst The DesertA Poem by sushobhan
Scudding across the whizzing sand dunes,
It looked an abode, replete of agonizing tunes. In the midst of portrait, embodying dejection, I hailed an apparition, struck by cactus injection. With impulses blighted, and despair hooked, Why this excursion to 'Devil's Garden' got booked? Not a drop to drink, and my soul ossified, My carcass was to appear, in Hell's Classifieds. The same scorching fireball, and sand grain piles, Struck my cornea, even after traversing miles. With feet grilled, and locomotion fettered, Moving across any course made me deterred. With sky shuffling in blue, red, and black, The topography's whip to anatomy never got slack. It was all a lethal setup with no map border, Languishing me in pursuit of mankind fodder. For those who came, may figure this mystery, Wilt this voyage, demarcate me as history? What struck my view, were oriented foot imprints, Whose end tend to reveal, the corpus blueprints. Was I to be in the catalogue of 'Demon's desert', As an outcome of being, "Amidst The Desert'.
