THE EYES ON A STONE

THE EYES ON A STONE

A Poem by sushi

In the middle of the market a statue stands,
A girl with a face not real...

The curly hairs bouncing over the wind,
dancing as waves, stretching below the shoulders,
do say something...

The white mask tied to the face hides a truth...
No one could see the expressions on this face,
No one could read its mind...

The eyes behind the mask keeps reading all,
though all happiness, fear and tears go unnoticed.
There is a life inside this statue,
there is an eye for this stone
which has never been seen,
which has never been fully understood...

Soon, it would be sold...
The seller might gain something,
The buyer might gain something,
but soon, the eyes on the stone will die
and the life within it will decay;
just the stone will remain
with the mask to cover the face...

She hid behind a mask waiting for someone to read her, but she was the witty one, reading others. People came and watched her, but could not see through her. She may pass through so many hands, but no one can really feel her. Time will pass, and a stone she will remain, she lived, and died .. with the forever hidden truth.
This is the image this written piece gave me. I love the story. Thank you, and well written.

So saddening, a unique concept too...refreshing :)
She observes all and who observes her? Guess some people never see the real person inside...this is beautiful work xoxo
