THE EYES ON A STONEA Poem by sushiIn the middle of the market a statue stands, A girl with a face not real... The curly hairs bouncing over the wind, dancing as waves, stretching below the shoulders, do say something... The white mask tied to the face hides a truth... No one could see the expressions on this face, No one could read its mind... The eyes behind the mask keeps reading all, though all happiness, fear and tears go unnoticed. There is a life inside this statue, there is an eye for this stone which has never been seen, which has never been fully understood... Soon, it would be sold... The seller might gain something, The buyer might gain something, but soon, the eyes on the stone will die and the life within it will decay; just the stone will remain with the mask to cover the face... © 2011 sushiFeatured Review
