The Story

The Story

A Poem by sushi

Of all the books on the rack,
why do I wish to read this again?
What's so addictive about it?
I try hard to give my time
to my commitment and responsibility
to succeed many a time

Today, when I open this book again
I see the days repeat itself.
I never regretted how it turned out
for, I just felt the best in everything;
no regret.
But there is a wish
for a twist in the story

How would it be
if,
the colors never faded
the flowers never dried
and the mirror could still show us
united and happy,
forever

This poem is great. I really enjoyed how it can be taken at face value or metaphorically.
It has multiple layers. It made me think of the book as a chapter of one's life in the way
of symbolism. Taken at face value, it makes me think of my favorite books and how i revisit them.
Nice work.

Enjoyed this, well written extended metaphor, love L2 in the third verse, that holds the tempo up perfectly.

Human mind has its own ways at times. We can do nothing but let it remain in delusion for while and it should come back to reality hopefully. We often want a different ending to our past stories.

I picture this as what Life would be as a book. Maybe a book with your name as the title...

Seems like a very reflective and genuine poem. Somewhat vague, but in a good way.

My only critique would be to revise it in a few small ways. Perhaps rewrite the last 7 lines?
But it's still a pretty good poem either way and maybe it should stay as is. Please feel free to ignore my "advice" though, lol.
