Missed Call

Missed Call

A Poem by sushi

What do you like about a Holiday?

My day starts when I want it to.
Pillows beg me not to leave them alone
curtains promise its' dark outside as inside
Only when hunger pricks my brain
I tend to collect my senses
reminding myself of the "Things to do" list.

But today was different
A known ringtone rang sweetly in my ears
It's been long since I heard it
A song I love, A song I made my phone's ringtone
I know not, who called
I kept yelling "Hello" for no response.
I went silent when I felt I heard a name
shock or happiness, I don't know what.

I hang-up for no response;
     not irritated for this day

I have no clue of the time
but it's a wonderful start to-day
A beautiful day
I am blushing
(may be with a false hope)
of being remembered.
But, I love this new day
I tend to like you Monday.

An interesting scene...I admire the narrator's voice for staying positive through a scenario that would have irritated me haha I wish today were a holiday now. Nicely done :)
