The Slow CaptureA Poem by Susanna FAnother oldie; this one was published in 1996, California City Post.I see your every move Your slow creeping Your nearness Approaching subtly.
I see the net you weave With eagerness With innocent-sounding Flattering speech.
I see the cage, The lock, the lure But, spellbound I cannot run.
You seek to capture Not my body Not my mind Nor possessions I own.
Slowly, deftly You know you will win The capture of My very heart. © 2011 Susanna F |
