Anxiety Attack

Anxiety Attack

A Poem by Susanna F

Just holding on until it passes
Until the next one comes
It doesn't matter how I fight
Seems it will never end.
At the pinnacle of joy I'll crash again
Hours from recovery I relapse again
Never to enjoy this brief mortal phase
Just surviving by my nails
Trying not to scream
And when it all makes sense
And I've finally figured out why I go on,
Reason shatters with a thunderhead
Black on black just darkening
All previous arguments
Lost in the null.

Very emotional piece. I've been having severe anxiety for three years and I can relate to this. Great writing. :)
