Heaven Drenched

How time begets such sweet romance

as tender notions dare impart.

Eyes bathed in moonlight, now entrance

quick steady beating of my heart.

Strong wanting arms draw ever close,

your body easing every ache.

Restraint now falls like dominoes,

this lover's dance of give 'n take.

Beneath our love and all around

bright starlit Heaven's blush and stare.

Breath quivers as soft lips surround ... 

let warm winds eavesdrop, I don't care.

Oh, wrap me in unbound desire,

till moments pause midst passing time.

Thus, rendering twin souls afire

and fantasies begin to chime.

Come lay me down beneath thy brawn

to share in wondrous ecstasy.

Shall wish away the breaking dawn,

when blissful waves peak endlessly.

’Tween rest subdues our appetites

'pon fallen embers, duly quenched...

What lingers, once again, ignites

two worlds, forever Heaven drenched.

A lover's story laced in gold,

sustaining breath therein remains.

Alone, You perfectly uphold

the beating life ~ within my veins

Good Sunday morning, Susan 🌤

After the fourth read, catching my breath was the first necessity before being able to sensibly review this captivatingly stupendous tribute to the glory of romance, love, and lovemaking.
Besides the jaw-dropping artwork choice, from eye candy font color, spot-on iambic tetrameter, immaculate rhymes, to smooth as silk syntax, spellbinding imagery, tantalizingly emotive vigor, and undeniable sensational mind's-eye cerebral, spiritual, and wondrously thrilling physical stimulation … the level of open, honest sincerity in the expressions of tactile feeling, sexual heat, and undeniable desire is stunning to the senses.
Of all the sensually vibrant, rhythmically beating love poems I've ever read, Susan, with this one, you've truly surpassed them all.
In each reading, I tried selecting one line or verse over the other, but each was so necessary in the totality of captivating moment and nuance, the one thing that grabbed in a particularly special way is this stunning verse:
"A lovers' story laced in gold,
sustaining breath therein remains.
Alone, You perfectly uphold
the beating life ~ within my veins."
