Love's Longing Heart

Love's Longing Heart

A Poem by Susan 🦋
"

An English Sonnet

"

Oh, how I welcome Luna's tranquil skies,
her warming beauty - shimmering soft rays.
'Neath velvet cosmos, Heaven's grace complies ...
bright visions magnified, my eyes agaze.

Dare ask, "Sunrise surrender your ascent,"
forever biding our long, gentle nights?
Love's midnight memories of full intent,
your Spirit's very air I breathe ~ unites.

Soon beckons twilight's loving afterglow;
echoing hearts share oneness, never far.
Celestial wonderment! Yet, even so,
my restless longings to be where you are.

Silk breezes grant repose 'long verdant glen,
sustaining breath ~ until we meet again.

I play guitar and sing so I love rhyming poems.
Also, when you talking about the moon or "Luna" you will definitely meet again soon 'Neath velvet cosmos. That's just the nature of the night.

My pleasure
the sustaining breath is like the sustained romanticism levied by this really smooth write.
I am not a big rhyme fan...but yours is so natural i hardly notice it...and for me that is a good thing.
I can feel the longing in this piece and relate from my older days of long distance romances.

A complicated composition that obviously took a while to write. Echos of Shakespearean English in this one. You're a hopeless romantic. lol

Hopeless romantic for sure :-) Thanks tate
Tremendously moving and emotional, Susan.
You've truly captured the spirit of love and longing with this heart-gripping Sonnet, and that ethereal whisper of a picture sets the virtually perfect moment.
Seems whatever you choose to write about, you most definitely touch my soul with tender warmth. Your Sonnet should fit very well within the hearts and minds of all who read it ... a most beautiful work.

Thank you ever-so warmly and gratefully, Susan ~ Richard : )
