Little bird told me...

A Little Bird Told Me

Shall tell, I heard
a little bird
sing sweetly my life's song,
Forthcomings blessed
he did attest,
"For me, love will belong!"

Life's journey glows,
Good Lord bestows
bright gifts upon my heart.
What hardship brings
gallant soul sings,
 forging our brand-new start.

Then, joy abounds,
delight resounds
of wonder and surprise.
True tender love
(Sent from above)
was little bird's reprise.

Begged, tell me more!
Will he adore
and hold me everyday?
Shall tell, that bird
said not a word,
but winked and flew away.

That was fun! --- Some birds sing, others sit on your shoulder and whisper secrets. Beware of the secret whisperers, they leave other things behind, well, sometimes they do. And always say "Thank You" to the Mockingbird when he sings, "Pretty, pretty, pretty!

' Begged, tell me more! - Will he adore - And hold me everyday? - Shall tell, that bird - Said not a word - But winked and flew away.. '

Such a delightful finishto your poem, ends with a pronounced spring in its step! Your meter danced my thoughts along, feel happy in the wake of your words, Susan. You've turned my okay into a broad smile. Thank you for sharing such finely metered and visual phrases. Happy me. :)

I like the way this message sounds fragmented in short choppy lines, as this would be the sound of a bird imparting its wisdom. Good use of rhyme & imagery to convey your many sensations of good will & hopefulness. In today's gloomy world, a bright uplifting poem like this is a treasure (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
