BulletproofA Poem by Annabel LeeA poem I wrote about gym class :)
Making her way,
through the class. Knowing near no one, Attention grabbing as tapestry. She doesn't care about them, or her own personal abilities. Soundlessly moving, The voices blend into a pounding backbeat. Emotion and sweat bounce off the high walls. Cold and robotic, She walks forward, arms crisscrossed, a barrier to the world. Awash in a sea of apathy, She has nothing to gain, nothing to lose. Sneakers squeak as runners zoom past. Whats on the line here? These people seem so foreign; Harmless as water, and just as mysterious. Her heart thumps mechanically in her chest. Somehow it all seems... Trivial. Terminal. False. This feeling of invincibility- will it last? Can't be sure. So while its here... One shot. One try. Are you game? © 2010 Annabel Lee |
